Bookstore Advisory Committee
The Bookstore Advisory Committee is responsible for studying the operations of the University Bookstore with reference to the manner in which it is meeting the needs of students, staff and faculty.
The associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students will make appointments from nominations received through standard procedures. Faculty appointments (4) are for three years, staff appointments (3) are for three years, and student appointments (3) for one year. The general manager, Barnes and Noble Bookstore, will serve in an ex-officio capacity. Faculty and staff members may not serve consecutive terms. Student members may be reappointed but may not serve more than three years. Other representatives may be appointed by the associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students as necessary and will serve ex-officio and/or as resource person(s).
This committee reports to the associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students through the general manager, Barnes and Noble Bookstore. The committee shall develop its own operating procedures subject to approval by the associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students. Copies of any minutes or reports are to be provided to the officer to whom the committee reports, to the Faculty Senate, to the Staff Senate, to the Student Senate, and to the University Library. The chairperson may be invited to visit the various senates to inform them of the activities of the committee during the year.
The committee shall elect its chairperson annually from the faculty membership, preferably from among those faculty who are in their final year or term of service.
