David Boylan is joining us as assistant professor in philosophy at Texas Tech University. He completed his PhD in Philosophy at MIT in 2018, after which he held an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Postdoctoral position in the Philosophy Department at Rutgers University. His main research interests are in the philosophy of language, epistemology and philosophical logic. He also has interests in philosophy of mind and metaphysics. At present he's working on the semantics of practical vocabulary, like ability and know-how claims, and on epistemic vocabulary, specifically the broader epistemological consequences of its logic.
