Dr. Amanda Laubmeier, assistant professor, joined Texas Tech in Fall 2020. She received her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University in 2018. Between 2018-2020, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She conducts research in population ecology, working closely with collaborators in the biological sciences. Her expertise is in developing mathematical models and leveraging empirical observations to address application-level concerns. She is particularly interested in insect communities and efficient use of ecological data. In addition to research, she is passionate about scientific outreach and fostering a diverse academic community.
