Ashley Steuer is an Assistant professor of Parasitology at Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in rural southwest Michigan and was introduced to veterinary medicine and animal production with family, local farmers, and veterinarians. Ashley completed her Bachelor's in Animal Science at Michigan State University, Lyman Briggs College in 2012, her DVM at the UTCVM in 2016, and her PhD in Veterinary Sciences (parasitology) in May 2020. She is sitting the ACVM Parasitology boards Fall 2020. Her teaching focuses on veterinary parasitology and clinical skills associated with parasitology practice. Ashley's research focuses heavily on equine and large animal parasitology, including the host-parasite interactions. She is involved in several organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Veterinary Practitioners, American Association of Equine Practitioners, and the American Heartworm Society. She aims to serve the local community and veterinarians with local events, parasite control and identification assistance, and CE instruction. Her motto is help is only a phone call (or e-mail) away.
