Joseph Gauthier

Joseph Gauthier is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas Tech University. Before joining Tech, Professor Gauthier worked jointly as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University, and his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Ohio State University. His research centers on using electronic structure simulations to understand how a material's atomic scale structure affects macroscopic properties. More specifically, it aims to leverage correlations to reduce the complexity involved with materials discovery for electrocatalysis and heterogeneous catalysis. His published work has appeared in Energy & Environmental Science, Nature Communications, ACS Energy Letters, ACS Catalysis, and others.
