Genevieve Durham DeCesaro

Associate Professor Genevieve Durham DeCesaro serves as Associate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. She joins the Provost's staff after serving as Head of Dance since 2004 and as Associate Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance since 2008. Durham DeCesaro's current research agenda focuses on transdisciplinary collaboration. She and her research partner are engaged in work that re-presents, using kinesthetic analysis and performance, data on women's relational lives. Additionally, Durham DeCesaro's choreography has been commissioned and presented nationally, most recently at the University of Detroit at Mercy and at Virginia Tech. Honorary presentations of her work include a performance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Durham DeCesaro is the elected Regional Director of the South-Central Region of the American College Dance Association. She is also a former Chair of the Texas Commission on the Arts Grant Review Panel, a former member of the Ballet Lubbock Advisory Board, and continues to choreograph and perform professionally with Lubbock's Flatlands Dance Theatre.
