The Commons is part of Texas Tech University's commitment to outreach and engagement, one that encompasses creative communities without intellectual, cultural, economic, organizational, or social borders.

Our Commons evokes a collective availability of resources and advocates for creative process and transdisciplinarity within university communities – people working creatively across and beyond boundaries and at the margins of academic disciplines, colleges, professions, and organizations. As such the Commons is comprised of non-hierarchical, transdisciplinary networks to serve as resources for students, faculty, staff, and other communities; and to promote and encourage collaboration on creative projects and initiatives.
