Dario Rueda Kunz, Ph.D. Student
Dario Rueda Kunz is from Germany but raised in Bolivia. In 2017, he obtained his B.Sc. in Agricultural Science and Production at Zamorano University located in Honduras. After graduating, Dario did an internship at the University of Georgia for 8 months, where he assured his desire to continue his higher education studies. Therefore, he obtained in August 2021 his M.Sc. in Horticulture at Texas A&M University; his research focused on vegetable breeding. In addition, during his time as a graduate research assistant at Texas A&M, he worked on tomato and spinach breeding, either traditional or molecular. After finishing, he joined Texas Tech University to pursue his Ph.D. in Plant and Soil Science under the advisory of Dr. Simpson. Currently, his research is in the Urban Horticulture and Sustainability laboratory on antibiotic uptake in plants and their mechanism of metabolizing those compounds.
