Even though we all were extremely exhausted from the overnight flight, the excitement and adrenaline gave us more than enough energy to be the extreme tourist. Thanks to Timmy's selfie stick, all the locals can spot us a mile away posing for the camera.

Welcome to the blog of the South America 2015 trip! We hope you enjoy the recap of each day and feel like you are on the adventure with us.

We left DFW on May 13th at 10pm and arrived in Sao Paulo at 10:15am. Even though we all were extremely exhausted from the overnight flight, the excitement and adrenaline gave us more than enough energy to be the extreme tourist. Thanks to Timmy's selfie stick, all the locals can spot us a mile away posing for the camera.

Our tour guide, Tammy, picked us up from the airport and took us to our hotel for orientation. After hearing Gabby speak about the itinerary, we checked into our rooms and got ready for our first event. We went to the Municipal Market and did a communication competition. Brittney and Bindu blew everyone away and were able to get all of their items on their list with 4 hais left. Everyone else wasn't very successful when it came to haggling with locals. After the Market we went to Vila Madalena and took up modeling as a side job, or like to claim it anyways. We had the opportunity to be in a photoshoot for aspiring photographers with an actual model.

After a long day of exploring, we had an incredible opportunity to go to dinner with a very impressive and inspiring Rawls alumnus, Mike Kehoe. He gave us an insight of what it is like to work internationally and a background of how he became so successful. It was a great opportunity for all of us to be able to learn from him.

It is safe to say that we were all ready for bed after traveling and exploring Sao Paulo all day. We couldn't have asked for a better first day in Brazil! Thank you to Dean Nail, Dr. Dass, Michele Moskos, and Dr. Delgadillo for planning this trip and allowing us all to grow and become more well-rounded. We are excited to see what tomorrow brings us!
