On our first Tuesday in Europe we planned to keep the theme ancient by going to a 500 year old brewery and the famous Prague Castle. Ironically though we started our day by meeting with a modern furniture company called DesignPropaganda. The founder talked with us about the beginning of his company and how he had built his brand to become one of the top 3 fashion furniture retailers in the country.

Although most Czechs could not afford his furniture as the average Czech annual income is around 287,000 Czech crowns which equates to about 11,500 dollars. He remain successful through larger offices, hotels, and private collectors who buy his products.

After DesignPropaganda we met with a local brewery U Fleku where we enjoyed the scenes of 500 year old pub and brewery. U Fleku was one of the first breweries to pop up when Prague was being settled. Out of over 150 breweries that first established the Medieval town U Fleku was the only one to have survived. It was interesting to see a business that his lived through ancient times, and communist times where the flavor keeps getting better.

Finally we climbed up to the Prague castle that watches over the entire city. Throughout our trip we have seen the monumental castle in the distance, dominating the horizon. As we walked through the enormous cathedral all of our jaws dropped in astonishment of what a collective group of people were able to accomplish regardless of the time period or technological advances.

Tuesday was our last full day in Prague and I think we can all agree that it was some of the most beautiful nights and days that we have experienced. None of us will leave quite the same.
