Mr. Hughes has more than 14 years of experience in investor relations, fundraising, and private bank lending. Most recently, he worked as a Managing Director for Harbert Management Corporation (“HMC”), in the Marketing group. There, he was the Southwest U.S. Lead for Marketing and Fundraising for HMC's nine alternative investment funds including real estate, growth capital, private credit, infrastructure, and hedge funds. Prior to that, Hughes was with JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs where he managed groups focused on complex private bank credit opportunities.

Hughes earned a B.B.A. in Finance from Texas Tech University (2005) and an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University (2010-2012). He holds FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses and is involved with Goldman Sachs Alumni Network, Texas Epsilon Networking Group – Dallas and Texas Association of Public Employee Retirement Systems.

In addition, Hughes' philanthropic interests include MD Anderson Advance Team Board, HERO Foundation and Young Philanthropists Society – United Way (Central Alabama).

Hughes and his wife, Celeste, have two children and are members of Canterbury Methodist Church.
