Scott Gaines

Scott C. Gaines is the head of OEM partnerships at Cars Commercie. Previously, he served as  vice president of Strategic partnerships at Capital One, where his team was responsible for identifying, cultivating and managing key relationships to accelerate business, transforming the way people find and finance their vehicle.

Scott joined Capital One after leading large global sales and marketing organizations for Nokia and Microsoft with teams of over 20,000 delivering more than $53B in revenues annually.  Scott is a pioneer in the integrated retail and digital customer experience.  He designed Nokia's award-winning shopper journey that was deployed in over 180 countries and was responsible for Nokia's first online phone sale. 

As a servant leader, Scott continues to be very committed to the development and growth of his team, which started with a program he co-created called Nokia Academy that has touched more than 10 million retail professionals worldwide over the last 15 years. In 2015, he was recognized as Microsoft's Leader of the Year for the Device Groups (out of 34k people). 

He is a lifelong learner, having started his academic career at Texas Tech University where he studied Marketing and Management. He later got his MBA from Baylor University in International Marketing.  His commitment to learning has continued through his participation in executive leadership programs with Harvard University, INSEAD, Wharton Business School and Kellogg School of Management. 

In his free time, Scott spends time with his wife and their two sons, Nash (5) and Jordan (18) as well as their three cats. He is also an avid cyclist who regularly competes in century road races.
