Lauren & Hunter Hill
2021 G.O.L.D. Award
Lauren and Hunter Hill are both proud Rawls College of Business graduates from the
spring class of 2017. Lauren earned her Bachelor's degree in Energy Commerce, Petroleum
Land Management, and Hunter earned his Master's degree in Accounting with a certificate
in Management Information Systems. After graduation they relocated to Houston, Texas,
where they now live with their pets, Flynn and Tanner. Currently, they are both working
full time, Lauren as a Title Analyst with EOG Resources, Inc. and Hunter as a third
year Audit Senior with Deloitte.
During their time at Texas Tech, Lauren and Hunter were heavily involved on campus,
including both of them being active members of Delta Sigma Pi, a business fraternity
at the Rawls College of Business. Lauren held multiple leadership positions across
campus, including a cabinet position within Student Government Association acting
as the first Director of Ambassadors, and served as the Texas Tech Panhellenic Vice
President of Judicial Affairs. In addition to her leadership roles, Lauren was a member
of the Women's Leadership Institute, Delta Gamma Fraternity of Women, Texas Tech Energy
Commerce Association, and Rawls Women in Business. Both Lauren and Hunter also held
multiple leadership roles within their fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, and Hunter was
an active member of the Accounting Leadership Council. It is thanks to their joint
interest in campus involvement that the couple met in 2014 and began dating. The couple
was later married in December of 2016, just prior to their graduation in May.
Since their graduation, Lauren and Hunter have remained involved in the Red Raider
community. They have continuously worked within the alumni network and have enjoyed
opportunities to speak at Donor Lunch and Learns. In addition to their work with the
university, Lauren and Hunter are involved within the volunteer community of the American
Foundation of Suicide Prevention, having raised over ten thousand dollars to date
alongside their teammates and supporters.
In addition to their impressive community involvement, they have also become some
of the youngest endowment donors of the Rawls College of Business. In the spring
of 2018, just one short year after graduation, Lauren and Hunter began the Christopher
A. Shulman Scholarship Endowment in honor of Lauren's late brother and fellow Rawls
College of Business alumni.
Christopher, a student known for being heavily involved on campus, was Lauren's biggest
role model, and beloved by all who met him. Christopher was most notably known for
his involvement as Chapter President of Texas Tech Mortar Board and the first National
Student Representative from Texas Tech. He also worked as a graduate assistant to
Chancellor Emeritus, Kent Hance, during his time at Tech.
To Lauren and Hunter, Texas Tech means home, family, and place for young and like
minds to be supported and encouraged. They are proud to be a part of the Texas Tech
and Rawls College of Business communities and will continue to support them through
lifelong service.
