Nancy McDonnell

Nancy McDonnell serves as Executive Vice President and Head of Treasury Services. She is responsible for leading all aspects of Texas Capital Bank's treasury and liquidity businesses.  McDonnell serves on the Operating Committee of Texas Capital Bank,  leads the payments and treasury innovations efforts for the bank and is the executive sponsor for the Women's Employee Resource Group. 

McDonnell joined Texas Capital Bank in January 2021 after retiring from a 32-year career at J.P. Morgan in August of 2020.  While at JPMorgan, where she served as a Managing Director, she had three decades of experience in a variety of senior leadership roles, including having served as JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s Global Head of Commercial Banking Treasury & Security Services for nine years until August 2020.   McDonnell had also held a number of senior leadership roles across banking and treasury segments for both the US and Global market segments. McDonnell first joined J.P. Morgan as a leader in the Corporate Client Banking group, where her focus included both Diversified and Industrials and Financial institutions.

Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase & Co.,McDonnell served as Vice President for Bank of America Dallas. Her first role was in the credit trading program at Bank of America, and she was assigned to the national corporate practice at Bank of America Merrill Lynch following successful program completion.

While at JPMorgan, McDonnell was selected as a Leadership Fellow for the International Women's Forum. During her year as a Fellow, she completed a yearlong program including a customized curriculum at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.  McDonnell was also selected for the Senior Leadership Program for Professional Women at Rutgers University.  In 2009 she was elected to the Academy of Women Leaders for the YWCA of New York City.  McDonnell holds 63, 7 and 24 securities licenses as well as the Certified Treasury Professional designation. 

McDonnell was born in Cuero, Texas. She graduated from Levelland High School and then entered Texas Tech University in 1977.  She graduated with a BBA in Finance in May 1981 and then joined the “family profession” of banking in the credit training program at The First National Bank in Dallas.  McDonnell comes from a family of bankers.  Her father, Thad McDonnell (deceased)  served as CEO of the Levelland State Bank, Texas American Bank of Levelland and CEO of the First National Bank of Grapevine, TX.  Her brother, Tom McDonnell ( Texas Tech Class of 1978), was also a lifelong banker serving in leadership roles at the First National Bank in Dallas, Bank of America in Abilene,  Lubbock and San Antonio and finished up his banking career at the Frost National  Bank in San Antonio. 

McDonnell is married to Robert (Bob) S. Harlin, Jr.  Nancy and Bob have 2 children, Anne McDonnell Rose (Villanova 2012) and Stephen Thomas Rose (Vanderbilt 2013), – all committed Red Raider fans!

McDonnell currently serves as Treasurer for the Women's Council of the Dallas Arboretum and as a Board Member for Wesley Rankin Community Center, a 501(c)3 Faith-Based Organization serving West Dallas.
