Rawls Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee

The Rawls Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee is an active advisory committee comprised of students, staff and faculty from a diverse range of orientations, backgrounds and experiences.

The committee strives to foster, value and embrace diversity within Rawls College and works to develop the capabilities of students, staff and faculty to create and sustain an equitable and inclusive climate in which all members of our community feel safe, respected and empowered.

Additionally, the committee encourages the recruitment of a highly diverse student, staff and faculty population throughout the college and supports the success of individuals from historically underrepresented or non-traditional backgrounds.

Task Forces

In response to the 2019 Rawls College of Business Climate Survey, the Rawls College Task Force on Sexual Harassment and the Rawls College Task Force on the Status of Staff were formed. By working to address issues highlighted by the climate survey, both task forces will foster the continued growth of equity and inclusion in the college.

Sexual Harassment Task Force

This task force is charged with reviewing the 2019 Rawls Climate Survey, follow-up reports to the main survey report, and additional information about the extent of sexual harassment in the college; reviewing TTU and TTUS policy and state and federal law related to sexual harassment; reviewing best practices of TTU and other academic and professional organizations for both responding to and preventing incidents of sexual harassment; seeking input from experts on and off campus, and making recommendations to improve Rawls College's sexual harassment policies, processes, training, and support for students, staff, faculty and administrators.

Staff Issues Task Force

The task force is charged with reviewing the 2019 Rawls College of Business Climate Survey, follow-up reports to the main survey report and additional information about the status of staff in the college and the university; reviewing TTU and TTUS policy related to staff; reviewing best practices of TTU and other academic and professional organizations for supporting staff success and professional development and responding to staff concerns.
