On Friday, May 9th, 2008, the University of New York in Prague was host to a delegation from Texas Tech University for a summit aimed at increasing the cooperation of our universities in the future.
After a fruitful day of discussions, the participants moved to the famous Prague restaurant, U Cisaru, where they were joined by the Honorable Mrs. Anita Perry, wife of the Govenor of Texas.
Mrs. Perry expressed her support for increasing international ties among the universities, and addressed the students present in particular, commending them on their choice to take advantage of these opportunities.
The event culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities, stressing their commitment to developing further mutual cooperation.
The document was signed by Mr. Sotiris Foutsis, General Manager of the University of New York in Prague, and Dr. Catherine Duran, Associate Deam of the Rawls College of Business, Texas Tech University, and witnessed by the First Lady of Texas, Mrs. Perry. A reception and dinner rounded out the evening's celebration.
