Paper by Rawls professor Keith Brigham and Rawls alumnus receives Best Family Business Paper Award

"A Numerical Taxonomy of Family Business Outcomes: Ten Years of DV's in Family Business Research" received the 2009 Jack A. Dinos/Cox Family Enterprise Center Best Family Business Paper Award at the 2009 Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting.

Andy Yu, G. T. Lumpkin, Keith H. Brigham and Ritch L. Sorenson authored the piece. Andy Yu received his Ph.D. from Texas Tech in August 2009, and Keith Brigham is an associate professor at Texas Tech. Lumpkin and Ritch are former faculty members at Texas Tech.

This best paper award was presented at the 2009 AOM Meeting by the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management and included a cash award.

The 2009 Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting was held in Chicago earlier this August. More than 10,000 AOM members attended the meeting. The Academy of Management is a leading professional association for scholars dedicated to creating and disseminating knowledge about management and organizations.

Dr. Keith Brigham received his PhD in Strategic Management/Entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Dr. Brigham's research interests include entrepreneurship, cognition and decision making, family business, technology transfer, and managing growth. His research articles have been published in journals such as the Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, and The Leadership Quarterly.
