Atlas Black speaks before he thinks, snoozes through class and still owes his landlord last month's rent.

Full of foible and charm, he's a typical pizza-munching college slacker.

But you won't find Atlas skateboarding through campus or cramming at a nearby coffee shop.

Instead, you'll find him inked into a universe created by Texas Tech business professor Jeremy Short.

Atlas is the protagonist, of sorts, in the second installment of a textbook series written by Short and a pair of colleagues.

"Textbook" applies loosely here, because Short's "Atlas Black" business texts look more Stan Lee than Adam Smith. ­
