Alan D. BrownManaging Director and Principal at Sowell & Co.

Alan D. Brown grew up in Grand Prairie and graduated with a BBA from Texas Tech University in 1969 on a banking scholarship provided by local banker, Durwood Sutton. After receiving an MBA from Darden Business School in 1971 and an honorable discharge from the US Army, Alan began his corporate banking career as a management trainee with First National Bank in Dallas. In 1989, Alan began working with Jim Sowell as Managing Director and Principal at Sowell & Co. The company has been involved in many successful private equity investments including numerous corporate acquisitions. Alan is currently Chairman of Sergeant's Pet Care Products. He is active in the community having served as Chairman of the Dallas United Way Corporate Gifts Division and on the Grand Prairie ISD School Board. Alan has also been active in his support of Texas Tech University having served on the Rawls College Advisory Council and the Texas Tech Foundation Board. A real highlight for Alan is the fact that he has been a member of the Tech Alumni Association for forty-two consecutive years since graduation.

Mark M. JohnsonRegional Chairman of Texas Capital Bank

Mark M. Johnson grew up on a ranch north of San Antonio. After graduating from high school, he came to Texas Tech University, joined Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and met his wife to be Carolyn Case. In 1968, he graduated with a BBA in Finance/Banking, Carolyn graduated with a BA in Education and the two Red Raiders married. Mark began his banking career at Texas Commerce Bank in Houston and in 1975, moved to National Bancshares Corporation of Texas in San Antonio where he rose to the post of President and Chief Operating Officer. In 1994, he joined Texas Bancshares, Inc. and First National Bank of South Texas in the posts of Chairman. In 2001, he moved to Texas Capital Bank as Regional President, and in 2009, was promoted to Regional Chairman. Mark has a long record of community service including serving as Past President of the Alamo Area Council of Boy Scouts and as Past Director of the Texas Business Hall of Fame, along with many other civic involvements. Mark was the 2010 recipient of the San Antonio's Movers & Shakers Award and is very active on the Rawls College of Business Advisory Council having recently served as Chairman.

Robert TaylorCEO of United Supermarkets, LLC

Robert Taylor, a native of Lubbock and graduate of Monterey High School, earned a BBA in Management from Texas Tech University in 1971. He currently serves as CEO of United Supermarkets, LL C, a position he has held since February 2010. Robert has been a member of the company's leadership team since July 2007, joining the company as Vice President of Logistics when United purchased R.C. Taylor Distributing, a family owned and operated business since 1949, where he served as President at the time of purchase. He has been an active presence in the Lubbock community for many years, having served as President of Southwest Rotary Club, Board Chairman of The Salvation Army, and various campaign positions for Lubbock Area United Way. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of PlainsCapital Corp., Texas Tech University Chancellor's Advisory Board, Delta Tau Delta House Corp. Board, and as Chairman of the City of Lubbock Downtown Redevelopment Board. Among his numerous awards are the Texas Wholesaler of the Year, Southwestern Community Service Award and the 2009 Texas Distributor of the Year. He and his wife, Jan, have four children and eight grandchildren.
