Michael Giberson, an Energy Commerce instructor in Rawls College of Business, had the honor of having his article, "The Problem with Price Gouging Laws," featured on the front cover of Regulation magazine.
People had suggested Giberson submit his article to the magazine, so he tailored the article to Regulation magazine's audience. Giberson knew his article was to be published in the magazine, but did not know his article was going to be on the cover until the issue was released.
"It was a nice surprise to see my article highlighted on the cover," Giberson smiled.
Giberson said he is interested in the economics, politics, and moral philosophy of price gouging laws. In the article, he discusses the impact price gouging laws can have on areas in a state of emergency. Both the positives and negatives of these laws are discussed in detail.
The Energy Commerce instructor has had a few academic journal articles published, but this is the first magazine article.
