Ashley Peterson, a junior marketing and management major from Fort Worth, Texas, begins her term as Panhellenic President on November 18, 2013.
She will serve as the president of the governing body in charge of the Panhellenic sororities at Texas Tech University for a 12-month term.
"I feel so honored to represent the Rawls College of Business in the Panhellenic community," Peterson said.
Ashley is a member of both Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and the Tech Marketing Association, as well as various honor societies. Prior to her new role, she has served as Vice President of the Panhellenic Executive Council, President of Junior Panhellenic Council, and Kappa Kappa Gamma Academic Excellence Committee member.
"Being Vice President this past year has taught me so much about the Panhellenic community and myself. Even though I have some large shoes to fill, the outgoing president, Shahaley Carr, has been a great mentor and I feel prepared for my coming term," she continued.
In her new role, Ashley will act as a liaison between the Panhellenic community and the university, Intrerfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, and National Pan-Hellenic Council. Her duties include assisting in all other Panhellenic positions, conducting meetings, and organizing various events throughout the year.
"I am so lucky to have been given the opportunity to represent Panhellenic and work with a fantastic group of women. Look out for some big things going on next year from this team. I am very excited and grateful for this year as President," Peterson concluded.
