The Rawls College of Business recently was ranked in Military Times' "Best for Vets: Business Schools 2014." This is the first time an individual college at Texas Tech is ranked for serving veterans.
"This recognition further affirms the university's strong commitment to serving veterans and preparing them for successful careers beyond uniformed service," said Juan Muñoz, senior vice president for institutional diversity, equity, and community engagement, and vice provost for undergraduate education and student affairs.
The Rawls College of Business was ranked 13th out of 64 other business colleges across the country. The organization selecting schools focused on culture and curriculum that caters to military veterans when conducting and scoring the "Best for Vets: Business Schools" survey.
"We in the Rawls College are honored to receive this recognition from Military Times," Dean Lance Nail said. "We are proud to support the university's commitment to veterans and active service personnel by providing opportunities and support for business education at all levels for those who have served their country through military service. They had our six when they served, and now we have theirs."
According to Military Times, the rankings also factor in academic quality, outcomes and policies, school culture, student support and cost. This allows service men and women an indicator to judge how a school or program will benefit them.
"We are very proud to receive this distinct honor," said Ryan Van Dusen, director of Military & Veterans Programs at Texas Tech. "This ranking validates what we strive to do--recruit and graduate the men and women who have so bravely given service to our nation."
