Chelsey Betenbough will represent the Rawls College of Business as the banner bearer for the Fall 2014 Commencement on Saturday, Dec. 13. Betenbough is graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in both Marketing and Management.
"My time at the Rawls College has been excellent, and I've enjoyed every moment of it," she said. "Within the college, you're surrounded by great faculty, teachers and students. I've made a lot of lifelong friends, and I know the lessons I've learned will help me in my career going forward."
Betenbough, who is from Lubbock, has been highly active within student organizations throughout her time as an undergraduate. She has served on the Rawls Ambassadors, where she interacted with various publics to promote the Rawls College, and was elected the Vice President of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society for her exemplary work in the classroom.
When reflecting upon her achievements as an undergraduate, Betenbough offered advice to students currently pursuing their degree.
"My motto is to put your hands to what's in front of you. When you're a good steward with what you have, then the rest will come. People will notice, and that can positively impact your future," she said.
After graduation, Betenbough will work as a Marketing Coordinator for her family's business, Betenbough Homes. In this role, she will be tasked with planning events, working with media, handling social media, conducting marketing research, and establishing relationships with corporate sponsors.
