The Rawls College of Business proudly announces the appointment of Yitzhak Fried, Ph.D., who will serve as the Trinity Professor of Management and Area Coordinator of the Area of Management. He brings a wealth of knowledge in the areas of organizational behavior and human resource management. Fried joins the Rawls College after serving as a Professor of Management at Syracuse University since 2004. He is a fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Society of Industrial and Organization Psychology, and the Society of Organizational Behavior. Fried hopes his knowledge and experience will support the college's efforts to create the next generation of thought leaders in management.

"I hope to further enhance undergraduate students' knowledge and understanding of the relevance and applicability of the different areas in the management discipline to help them be successful in the business world. To this end, it is important that we encourage and foster student interaction with the business community, resulting in an increase in successful work placements," Fried said. "Concerning the Ph.D. students, I also hope to further increase their learning experience, and their visibility in the market to ensure successful professional placement."

As Area Coordinator, Fried will play an integral part in contributing to both the college's and Area of Management's strategic goals. Fried will focus on enhancing interdisciplinary research, and also hopes to strengthen research collaboration with other scholars and programs from other institutions both nationally and internationally.

"I would like to further enhance our relationship with the business community for the benefit of student learning and career opportunities, as well as faculty research development; and also to help enhance the placement of our students," he said.

I am pleased to join the Rawls College of Business and become part of an exciting scholarly and educational environment. What attracted me to the Rawls College is the high quality of the college's faculty and programs, the collegial atmosphere, the emphasis on advanced scholarship, and a great learning environment for students at all levels. It is very appealing to join an internationally recognized business school that emphasizes excellence through cross-disciplinary research and academic programs aimed at advancing scientific knowledge for the benefit of scholars, national and international leaders, and students. I look forward to becoming an integral part of this community and contributing to this dynamic and flourishing environment of learning and practice. I look forward to joining the group of expert teachers in the Area of Management to contribute to students' learning.
