The Area of Management welcomes Gideon Markman, Ph.D., Professor of Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Enterprise at Colorado State University, to present "Organizational Hostility: A Framework of Atypical Competitive Engagements" to Rawls students. Dr. Markman will speak Wednesday, April 8, from 1-2:30 p.m. in Rm. 291. All students are welcomed.
About Dr. Markman
Gideon Markman is a professor of strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship at Colorado State University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado - Boulder, and was a faculty member at RPI (New York) and at the University of Georgia. His research focuses on competitive dynamics, market entry, and how social entrepreneurs shape industry logic. His articles appear in diverse journals: Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, Research Policy, and Academy of Management Perspectives. He is also an editorial board member with several journals, and is leading a couple of special issues on sustainability. Dr. Markman has enterprise-building and fund-raising capabilities. He founded and funded the Sustainability, Ethics, and Entrepreneurship (SEE) Conference (that is now endorsed and supported by the Kauffman Foundation).
