The Rawls College of Business placement rates for December 2014 have eclipsed 90 percent for both undergraduate and graduate students, marking the first time the college has reached that milestone for its undergraduates. The placement statistics, provided by the Rawls Career Management Center (CMC), show that recently graduated undergraduate and graduate students achieved a 90.7 percent and 93.6 percent placement rate, respectively.
"We are especially proud of the fact that we've reached over 90 percent undergraduate placement for the first time in Rawls Career Management Center history. Not only do we focus on building relationships with high-quality employers each semester, we also provide a full line of services to develop our students with various workshops, seminars, and interactions with our employer partners," said Barry Broughton, senior director for the CMC and Center for Global Engagement. "The fact that our statistics outpace national averages, and continue to increase each semester, is a true testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire CMC staff."
Compared to last May's statistics, placement for undergraduates increased from 89.6 percent. Additionally, starting salaries for both undergraduate and graduate students improved. December's statistics show that undergraduates earned an average salary of $53,675, rising from $52,418, and graduate students earned $65,787, substantially rising from $55,813.
Placement includes anyone who was employed or progressed to graduate school within 90 days of graduation.
