Three Rawls students were awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship for their upcoming summer 2015 study abroad programs.

Congratulations to the following students:

  • Duc Can, a senior Management major, who is joining the Faculty-led Program in H√łnefoss, Norway.
  • BrendaGuardiola, a senior Finance major and Spanish minor, who is traveling to Seville, Spain.
  • DeyannaPorter, a junior dual Marketing and General Business major and French minor, who is participating in the American Business School in Paris, France.

The Gilman Scholarship Program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study abroad and the countries and regions where they go by offering awards to undergraduates who might otherwise not participate due to financial constraints. It provides funds of up to $5,000 for students who are Pell Grants recipients to pursue study programs outside of the U.S. for up to one year. The scholarship is made available through the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in the U.S. Department of State.

This supports the efforts outlined in the Rawls College of Business Strategic Plan. Learn more about the LEADER 2020 Strategic Plan and follow our progress on Twitter at #RawlsLeads.
