Nicole Hragyil will represent the Rawls College of Business as the banner bearer for the Spring 2015 Commencement on Saturday, May 16. Hragyil is graduating Summa Cum Laude with bachelor's degrees in General Business and Exercise and Sport Sciences.
"One of the things that stood out to me during my time at the Rawls College was how I was constantly pushing the boundaries and challenging myself, which will better serve me in my career," she said. "By doing so, I now feel comfortable working with clients, giving presentations, and effectively working in groups."
Hragyil, who is from Carrollton, Texas, has been active in many organizations at both the Rawls College and Texas Tech during her collegiate career. She has been a member of Tech Marketing Association, Beta Gamma Sigma and Who's Who Among Students. Additionally, she was a student-athlete with the Texas Tech Women's Volleyball team, earning Academic All-Big XII honors for her achievements in the classroom.
Another positive aspect of the Rawls College that Hragyil noted was her study abroad experience. In Summer 2013, she took Income Tax Accounting in Prague, Czech Republic, with Dr. Masselli's faculty-led program. This experience proved valuable to her growing as a student and person, and she encouraged all current students to study abroad.
"Studying abroad is greatest thing you can do. It opens your mind and offers you things that you can't experience here. It makes you see how the big the world is and what opportunities await you," Hragyil said.
Spring 2015 Commencement for the Rawls College of Business begins Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
