The Rawls College lost a good friend and alumnus last week with the passing of Mr. John Malouf. He was a great supporter of the Lubbock community and Texas Tech University and will be missed.
John graduated in 1949 with a B.B.A. in Management. He was instrumental in establishing an Alumni Professorship in Marketing to provide funds to support research, teaching and professional activities. He also supported many scholarships at Texas Tech. John served as chairman of the Rawls College Chief Executives' Roundtable speaker program for many years and continued to be an involved community member in the program that benefited business students.
"You have to give back to those institutions that serve you and serve the community," Malouf said.
The college honored John as a Distinguished Alumnus in 1991 for his many contributions to the College of Business. He was a loyal supporter of education throughout his lifetime.
