Dr. Glen Ritchie is the Chair and Associate Professor of the Department of Plant and Soil Science at Texas Tech University (TTU). Dr. Ritchie received his B.S. degree from Utah State University in Crop Science in 2000, his M.S. degree from Utah State University in Crop Science in 2003, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Georgia in Agronomy in 2007. He joined the Texas Tech Faculty in 2011 as an Associate Professor of Crop Physiology.  His responsibilities at Texas Tech include teaching Crop Physiology and Plant Water Relations. Dr. Ritchie has completed 3 Master of Science students. Dr. Ritchie has an active research program examining plant water relations in cotton and sorghum.

Research Interests

My research interests include developing effective and economical water management strategies for crop production in the Southern High Plains. Current projects include research on cultivar selection, irrigation management, and the effects of persistent and episodic drought on crop growth, morphology, yield, and quality.
