Texas Tech Receives National Recognitions
Texas Tech ranked No. 7 spot on the list of 2017 top online and most affordable online schools for students with disabilities, as ranked by the SR Education Group, an education research publisher.
The university has received the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine for the sixth year in a row. Of the 79 national recipients this year, Texas Tech is one of only 15 that has earned the award every year since its inception in 2012.
Texas Tech is one of 65 institutions named to Phi Theta Kappa's 2017 Transfer Honor Roll, which recognizes excellence in community college transfer pathways. Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges.
The Sierra Club named Texas Tech to its 2017 Cool School List. The list is compiled from raw data from the Sustainability Tracking Assessment and Rating System self-reporting tool. Information was scored across 61 categories about different environmental impacts of a university like peer-to-peer sustainability, sustainability during orientation of new students and energy use by type.
