Associate Vice President for Research, Responsible Research

Alice Young, Ph.D. is Associate Vice President for Research-Responsible Research in the Office of Research & Innovation and professor of psychological sciences at Texas Tech University and of pharmacology and neuroscience at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Young works with TTU Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and all TTU research compliance offices to develop programs in responsible conduct of research that support TTU research and scholarship.

Before joining Texas Tech in 2004, Dr. Young was professor of Psychology and of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neurosciences at Wayne State University, where she served as associate dean for research and graduate programs in the College of Science. She is a former recipient of a NIDA Research Scientist Development Award, and her research and teaching focuses on behavioral pharmacology and applied cognitive psychology.

Dr. Young received a bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She earned a doctorate in experimental psychology from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and received postdoctoral training in pharmacology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
