to introduce the 2019 Performance Innovation Speaker Series (PIS). The PIS is dedicated
to advancing West Texas by showcasing innovation through research impact, creative
performance, and entrepreneurship. Three dynamic keynote speakers have been invited
to share how they have advanced their collective thinking of ideas to societal impact!

Sherwin Greenblatt
Former President and Project Engineer of Bose Corporation
Sherwin Greenblatt was at the forefront of developing Bose Speakers alongside Dr. Amar Bose. Come and hear the incredible story of how Dr. Bose used his nationally funded research and his passion for classical music to inspire his creation of the first Bose speaker. Dr. Bose wanted the world to have the best acoustics to hear music as he did attending classical concerts. Sherwin assisted Dr. Bose in creating what is today a multi-billion-dollar company. Today, Sherwin serves a mentor for startup companies with the Venture Mentor System at MIT in Boston.

Rob Kaplowitz
Sound Designer, Instructor and Entrepreneur
Tony Award Winner
Robert Kaplowitz is a world-renowned composer, sound designer, and Instructor at Princeton University. He has been honored with both a Tony for Best Sound Design of A Musical (2009-10, Fela!) and an OBIE for Sustained Excellence in Sound Design (2006-7 Season), among a number of other awards and nominations. His professional credits include over 300 productions! Rob has integrated a new technology into the world of theater and sound design by creating StageCaller, an app that produces sounds that changes the way sound design is produced during live performances. Come and hear Rob share the high's and low's of his journey as he tries to disrupt the sound design industry!
