Texas Tech University

Texas Tech is in a period of growth in its research enterprise. The Office of Research & Innovation (OR&I) has been charged with leading the university's efforts to increase and improve upon the already excellent research, scholarship and creative activity at the university.

While attending New Faculty Orientation is an important first step in your career at Texas Tech, new faculty at Texas Tech should spend some time talking with colleagues and your department chair to better understand research expectations in your department. It also is helpful to take advantage of the OR&I resources and activities that support faculty development. To help you better navigate the sponsored research process, the OR&I has created the Sponsored Project Lifecycle. All faculty are urged to attend the monthly Faculty Research Club which provides a social setting to stimulate interdisciplinary research collaborations, networking and promote informal discussions about research.

Key Areas

There are several areas in the OR&I that directly help researchers in obtaining and managing external funding and technology transfer.
