One Love Facilitator Training | 2pm - 5pm | Virtual
Join One Love to learn how to facilitate educational programs for your peers. The One Love Foundation educates young people about healthy and unhealthy relationships, empowering them to identify and avoid abuse and learn how to love better. Register in advance for this two-day facilitator program online here.

The Body Project is a group-based intervention that provides a forum for college aged women to confront unrealistic appearance ideals and develop healthy body image and self-esteem. It has repeatedly been shown to effectively reduce body dissatisfaction, negative mood, unhealthy dieting and disordered eating. To register, email BodyProjectTTU@gmail.com.

Denim Day | All Day | All Over Campus
Texas Tech University is hosting Denim Day Wednesday April 28th, 2020. The Denim Day campaign began over 20 years ago and remains a worldwide effort to raise awareness that consent is never implied and there is never an excuse or invitation to rape. Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to wear denim on April 28th and get involved in our efforts to raise awareness campus wide. For more information, see the side bar to the right.

Take Back the Night | 7pm -8pm | Memorial Circle
Take Back the Night is an annual gathering of students, staff, faculty, and community members who believe that sexual assault is NOT OKAY. Join survivors and allies for an evening of speakers, artistic performances, and support.

Exhale: A Night of Art, Creativity, & Expression | 5pm - 8pm | CASP Stage 1106 5th street, Lubbock Texas
Submit to our call for visual or performance art to present your work at Exhale. RISE aims to create a safe space for survivors and allies to find healing through art during this event. Participation is heavily encouraged- whether you're a professional artist or you've only written one poem, we want you to feel safe sharing your work in this space. There will be open mic time toward the end of the event for people who would like to share an expressive piece but did not presubmit. Submission is not required for attendance, so be sure come out, see some art, and support!

Exhale: A Night of Art, Creativity, & Expression

Submit to our call for art!

We're accepting all forms of visual and performance art for our SAAM wrap-up event on April 30th. For visual artists, artworks will be displayed during May's 200th First Friday Art Trail in addition to April 30th's event.

Denim Day Details

Support survivors by wearing denim on April 28th! Join in the celebration by:

  • Requesting Denim Day stickers and buttons for your department or student org
  • Wearing denim and posting a picture on April 28th using #TTUSAAM and #TTURISE and tagging @tturise
  • Using branded GIFS on instagram stories showing your support. Search "TTU SAAM" to use
  • Sending in a 30 second - 2 minute long video (recorded vertically) of a message to survivors to rise@ttu.edu by April 21st
