Coronavirus (COVID-19) Centralized Information & Guidance from SDS

SDS COVID-19 Statement:

SDS Logo

Dear Student Disability Services Students and Parents,

The Student Disability Services Staff would like to make sure that all students registered with our office are aware of the current (COVID 19) virus situation on the TTU campus and the contingency plan moving forward on how SDS will continue to provide its programs and services. Please remember that this is a very fluid situation and can change quickly, so be sure and check your email frequently for the latest updates on campus operations.

Due to the university's efforts to ensure campus health and safety in limiting the transmission of the (COVID 19) virus, courses offered on campus will be cancelled for the week of March 23rd – March 27th and will migrate to online classes beginning March 30th. The Student Disability Services Office is working with various departments, faculty and staff in planning to provide continuous services for students registered with SDS. Please pay special attention to your TTU email for information and instruction from the university and your professors moving forward with classes online.

Please be aware some accommodations for on campus classes may not apply to an online setting. It will be important to contact your course instructors via email or phone to discuss your LOA's and how they will apply to an online course moving forward. For Law School Students who have questions about their accommodations, please contact Dean Sofia Chapman at sofia.chapman@ttu.edu or Dean Janessa Walls at janessa.walls@ttu.edu. In most situations, the accommodations that will apply include extending time for exams and quizzes, closed captioning or transcripts for videos and audio information, and access to PowerPoint slides and documents for note taking assistance. Others may be necessary and will be considered on a case by case basis.

The Student Disability Services Office will continue to provide services to our students, parents, faculty, and staff on a continuous basis through phone at 806.742.2405 or email at sds@ttu.edu. Current SDS students can contact their counselor for any questions or support. If a student is not sure who their counselor is then please email the SDS office at sds@ttu.edu to get connected to their assigned counselor. Do not hesitate to contact the SDS office for any questions you may have during this situation which is continuously evolving.

Please stay safe and enjoy your spring break.

Sincerely,

Larry K. Phillippe, Ed.D. P.A.
Managing Director
