Jay Wang, Affiliate
Dr. Jay Wang has received a master's degree in condensed matter physics from Beijing Normal University, and a Ph.D. degree in science education, curriculum & instruction, from Indiana University. He has worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the STEM transformation institute at Florida International University.
His research interests include scientific argumentation and science/physics identity at the secondary and college levels, and inquiry teaching for science/physics teacher training across K-12. Currently, he is engaged in the activities of reforming science instructional methods courses for elementary and secondary (K-8) teacher candidates, identifying and bridging the gap between educational theories and field practicum for elementary and secondary (K-8) teacher candidates, and promoting inquiry-based instruction in introductory college physics courses through developing the Pedagogical Content Knowledge of teaching assistants (TA)/learning assistants (LA).
