Jessica Simpson, Member
Jessica “Jessie” Simpson is a Personal Librarian at Texas Tech University Libraries. As a subject specialization librarian for the sciences and mathematics she meets with students, faculty, staff, and the community to determine and locate the best resources for targeted academic research. With over a decade of experience in library service, Jessica is passionate about managing knowledge with technology, procedure, documents, and mediating computer-human interactions. Jessica's current research interests include website architecture, as well as Learning Management System information integration.
Jessica has experience with information, records and retrieval in both academic and corporate environment. Jessica appreciates the value of the STEM education pipeline and views the process as a journey that one continues to expand and engage through various stages of life and environments. Her job responsibilities include improving and promoting information literacy in Science and Mathematics areas through campus-wide and community engagement. Personal contact with departments allows the library to contribute to the STEM university community by providing access and education about technological and direct services available to the various STEM disciplines. Jessica is currently a member of Texas STEM Librarians and has served on related committees. She has also served as a judge for the TTU Undergraduate Research Conference presentations in science areas.
