Content Creator Application
The social media interns work on a team and oversee the content for Student Engagement and Transfer Connection. Overseeing a wide variety of accounts requires creativity and teamwork, as the interns must work together to create graphics, photos, and videos that engage each account's unique audience. This role allows interns to work independently while also interacting with other team members.
Job Description
- Create social media posts for one or more accounts for Student Engagement (including utilizing Instagram and Facebook)
- Participate in weekly planning meetings with the content creation team
- Meet monthly with the social media marketing team to create a content plan
- Generate and implement new and creative social media ideas
- Engage with followers and drive organic traffic using daily interaction and engagement (retweets, likes, etc.).
- Attend campus events (on evenings and weekends when necessary) to generate social media content
- Create innovative social media campaigns while building native content (e.g. Instagram stories)
- Work 15-20 hours per week in an office setting
Application Requirements
Show us that you're the right person for the job by uploading 3 original types of content that highlight any aspect of Texas Tech or Lubbock that incoming or current students need to know and would work on the current feeds. All photos, graphics, videos, and/or captions should be taken and created BY YOU. Any work that is not completely original will not be considered.
1. Sample Carousel Photo Post
Upload a Word or PDF document showing at least 4 photos and an accompanying caption that would work as an Instagram carousel feed post.
2. Sample Instagram Story
Upload a Word or PDF document showing a series of at least 3 slides that would serve as an original Instagram story.
3. Sample Instagram Reel
Upload one original Instagram reel (or TikTok) video. The topic can be anything related to Texas Tech, Lubbock, or college student life.
