Chatting with Charney

For most of my education, fall semesters smelled like mimeograph ink. When professors handing out well, anything paper, students would smell it. And that’s what this fall semester smells like. So much of that has to do with our new building.

The First of Many

Maddie Bryan will be the first student at Texas Tech to graduate from the Musical Theatre program. She explained that when the program was introduced, there were sophomores and juniors who switched over to it, but she was among the first of the that inaugural year. Now, a few years later, her graduation marks a unique moment for TTU and a successful “proof of program” for the School.

Hitting His "Marks"

On a hot, sunny day in Lubbock, one where the sky was its typical baby blue with a few picturesque clouds dotted about, I was set to meet and interview Dr. Jonathan Marks, a man I’d heard much about. There was so much to ask him. After all, a career of over 40 years in theatre working with several of the most renowned companies and universities in the country is no easy feat. So once we sat down, I started at the very beginning (a very good place to start).
