Reginald L. Douglas (he/him/his) is a director, producer, and advocate dedicated to creating new work and supporting new voices, led by a fervent commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and Anti-Racist Theater practices. He currently serves as the Associate Artistic Director at Studio Theatre in Washington, DC, where he will next direct a reimagined ensemble production of Dael Orlandersmith's revered solo play Until the Flood. At Studio, Reginald helps curate, directs in,and line produces two subscription seasons, leads casting and artistic hiring, plans and produces community, donor, and audience engagement events, pilots special artistic projects and collaborations, and directs and produces new play development activities, while serving on Board and staff EDI committees, overseeing a department staff of four, and assisting in the senior level management of the organization's $4.5 million budget. As a director, Reginald has developed and directed plays, musicals, and multimedia work by many acclaimed writers including Dominique Morisseau, Cori Thomas, Angelica Chéri, Lynn Nottage, Nikkole Salter, Kemp Powers, Jen Silverman, Ngozi Anyanwu, Brian Quijada, Matt Schatz, Amy Evans, Zakiyyah Alexander & Imani Uzuri, Dave Harris, Francisca Da Silveira, Khalil Kain, Chisa Hutchinson, Tearrance Arvelle 26 Chisholm, Josh Wilder, Larry Powell, Harrison David Rivers, Donja R. Love, Herb Newsome, Craig “muMs” Grant, Korde Arrington Tuttle, a.k. payne, Jessica Dickey, Laura Brienza, Kevin R. Free, Brent Askari, Micah Ariel Watson, and several others. His passion and acumen for both new play development and re-investigating the classics have led him to theaters across the country, including directing work at Eugene O'Neill Center, TheaterWorks Hartford, Contemporary American Theatre Festival, Everyman Theatre, Weston Playhouse, Profile Theatre, Playwrights Realm, Kennedy Center, Pittsburgh CLO, Arizona Theatre Company, Ford's Theatre, Negro Ensemble Company, Theatre Squared, Cygnet Theatre, Palm Beach Drama Works, Playwrights Center, NNPN Showcase at B Street Theatre, McCarter, Florida Rep, Third Rail, Luna Stage, Harlem Stage, Wild Project, Signature Center, Drama League, The Lark where he was the inaugural Van Lier Fellow in Directing, New York Theatre Workshop where he was an inaugural 2050 Directing Fellow, and City Theatre in Pittsburgh where he served as the Artistic Producer for five seasons.
