Classroom Layouts and Resources
In partnership with the Operations Division: Planning and Administration and the Teaching Space subcommittee of the Space Allocation Committee, we have provided information about classroom layouts as well as resources to assist you. We will be adding more room layouts for Spring 2021 and invite you to check back often. The downloadable Excel spreadsheet template is provided for faculty use when creating their seating assignments. These assignments are required and may be used in the event of positive COVID results and follow-up contact tracing.
We are all doing our best to provide a clean, safe campus environment for our students, staff, and faculty. We recognize it requires a team effort to change patterns and habits, and appreciate your partnership!
As a reminder, our templates are based on estimations of how the furniture is placed in the room so be sure to double-check the templates to the actual room furniture placement before assigning seats.
Also, feel free to rearrange the colored dots (including lectern) on the templates to match the physical room layout especially if the room has been modified to allow for more space between student seats or if you would like to add more vacant space between student seat assignments.
Prior to assigning seats:
1. Please review the template compared to the room's furniture location. Feel free to relocate the colored furniture marker on the template to match the current room furniture layout.*
2. Adjust the templates to match the CDC guidelines of social distancing as needed.**These templates are based on estimations supported by CDC guidelines and serves as a supporting tool to the conduct in the space. It is the responsibility of the end user to make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with University and CDC guidelines. CASNR Seating Assignment Resources
The following templates and instructions were shared from Dr. Eric Bernard (Chair, Landscape Architecture). The master Excel template provides all CASNR teaching rooms laid out in cells on room named worksheets (tabs). Also included is an individual room Excel file that can record seating on each day of the week as most of our classes are hybrid with different students in the room on alternating days.
