About Dr. Lauren Barbeau and Dr. Claudia Cornejo Happel

Lauren Barbeau, PhD, is the Assistant Director for Learning and Technology Initiatives in the Center for Teaching and Learning at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her co-authored book, Critical Teaching Behaviors: Defining, Documenting, and Discussing Good Teaching (Stylus Publishing, 2023), offers instructors a framework for identifying, implementing, and documenting effective teaching behaviors as well as aligned peer observation and student feedback instruments to help them gather external perspectives on their teaching. Lauren earned her Ph.D. in English from Washington University in St. Louis. 

 

Claudia Cornejo Happel Photo

Claudia Cornejo Happel, PhD, EdS, is an Associate Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach. Her research interests include documenting and assessing teaching, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), as well as inclusive instructional practices. Her co-authored book, Critical Teaching Behaviors: Defining, Documenting, and Discussing Good Teaching (2023), builds on her expertise and interests to provide evidence-based guidance and practical tools for faculty to enhance teaching effectiveness and document instructional achievements.
