MICHELLE KISER

Dr. Kiser is the Senior Director of Support Operations for Academic Retention (SOAR) and RaiderReady. She received her Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, and Doctorate of Education at Texas Tech University. Dr. Kiser has worked with Texas Success Initiative for five years before becoming Director of SOAR in May 2009. Currently, Dr. Kiser manages RaiderReady and four programs within the department of SOAR; The Learning Center, Supplemental Instruction, Texas Success Initiative, and Programs for Academic Development and Retention. Dr. Kiser has worked at Texas Tech University for 17 years. Dr. Kiser is an active CASA volunteer for seven years, loves Red Raider sports and Texas Tech University, and she will always be a Red Raider! Wreck'Em Tech!

BONNIE CORDELL

Assistant Director - Texas Success Initiative

Bonnie Cordell is the Assistant Director of The Texas Success Initiative. Originally from Roswell, NM, Bonnie is a proud Tech alum who received a dual BA in English and German from Texas Tech University and an MA in English Literature, Rhetoric, and Composition from the University of Wyoming. She served as the Senior Membership and Network Coordinator at the University of Wyoming Alumni Association before returning to Texas. Bonnie is passionate about working with TSI students to help prepare them for success at Texas Tech and after graduation. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and fishing with her husband and their dog Molly.

ASHLEY ROSS

Instructor - Texas Success Initiative

Ashley Ross is the Mathematics Instructor for the Texas Success Initiative. Originally from Graham, Texas, Ashley received both a B.A. in Mathematics and an M.A. in Sociology from Texas Tech University. Previously, Ashley served as the Academic Advisor for TSI at Texas Tech. Before joining the Texas Success Initiative team, she worked as a math tutor in The Learning Center and as a graduate teaching assistant for the Sociology department. Ashley enjoys working with students and helping them realize the power of mathematics. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, photography, and keeping up with the Goin' Band from Raiderland.

OSARIEMEN OSAGHAE

Osariemen Osaghae is originally from Lubbock, TX and of Nigerian descent. She served on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board TSI Assessment Item Review Team as a faculty member who reviewed the items on the new TSI Assessment. She has taught in higher education for seven years. Osariemen holds a Master's in Education from Texas Tech University. Currently, she is working on her doctorate in Educational Psychology with an interest in academic self-efficacy, underserved populations, and academic retention. Osariemen has contributed to academia in the form of two publications and a presentation at SERA. In addition to work in higher education, she is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and holds both local and area positions.

SERENA SOSA

Senior Advisor - Texas Success Initiative

Serena Sosa is the Senior Academic Advisor of the Texas Success Initiative. She is originally from San Angelo, Texas. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Counseling from Angelo State University. During her time at Angelo State University, Serena participated in numerous research projects and presented her findings at the Association for Psychological Science Convention in San Francisco, California. In her spare time, she enjoys playing golf and spending time with her dog Layla.

MARIA DEFILLIPI

Academic Advisor - Texas Success Initiative

Maria DeFillipi is the Academic Advisor for the Texas Success Initiative. She is originally from Orlando, Florida, but made her way to Texas as fast as possible. Maria received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Texas Tech University with a minor in French. As an undergraduate, she was a member of the Goin' Band and Tau Beta Sigma. Maria loves working with animals and has volunteered for the Texas Tech Therapeutic Riding Center and Guide Dogs for the Blind. In her spare time, she enjoys puzzles and brain teasers, painting, and enjoying nature.
