Task Force on Greek Organization Culture

Message from The Chair, Task Force on Greek Organization Culture

In light of recent events surrounding the Greek community at Texas Tech, university President Duane Nellis and System Chancellor Robert Duncan have formed the Task Force on Greek Organization Culture comprised of Texas Tech administrators, staff, students, and members of the West Texas community. The Task Force has been charged to study issues related to various aspects of Greek life at Texas Tech. As Senior Vice President & Vice Provost, I have been invited to chair the Task Force.

We understand that Texas Tech is not the only institution of higher education facing challenges in its Greek community. We also understand that the actions taken at Texas Tech will have far-reaching implications beyond the university.

We therefore pledge to ensure an aggressive and thorough Task Force effort dedicated to achieving realistic changes that are both immediate and long-term. The result will be a Greek community that is safe, secure, and focused on the attributes that reflect the best of higher education and Texas Tech University.
