About Me

Clinton J. Roof is an Assistant Professor of General Practice at Texas Tech University. He was born and raised in southern New Mexico where he was introduced to livestock and animal sciences. While earning his veterinary degree he completed his Masters degree in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences at Kansas State University with a focus on the qualification and quantification of bacterial pathogen load in acute bovine respiratory disease cases. He also completed a Master of Public Health at Kansas State University with a focus on zoonotic and infectious diseases - emphasis in Rift Valley fever and occupational biosafety hazards. Additionally, while working as an assistant in small animal internal medicine he aided in research concerning progressive kidney disease in canine and feline patients. He is a partner in Bovine Veterinary Services PC that covers southeastern New Mexico, West Texas, and West Oklahoma - providing services to dairy and beef cattle. He is an owner of a mobile veterinary clinic, Rafter R Veterinary Services LLC - providing services for all large animals, small ruminants, and basic care for small animals.

Instruction

Clint's focus is in clinical and professional skills and their application to general practitioners. Including field surgery, reproductive services, herd management, and necropsy.

Service

Clint is an active participant with kids raising and showing livestock with 4H and FFA. He also is a member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP), New Mexico Veterinary Medical Association, and Texas Veterinary Medical Association.
