About Me

Nancy Zimmerman is a Professor of Surgery at Texas Tech University. She earned a doctor of veterinary medicine from the University of Wisconsin and completed a small animal surgery residency at Virginia Tech. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Following her residency, Nancy worked in a private referral practice in Dallas, Texas and then returned to Wisconsin to establish a full-time locum surgery practice. She had an opportunity to work at a wide variety of private referral centers in the United States and Canada and enjoys soft tissue, orthopedic and neurosurgery. She is passionate about helping others gain expertise in surgery and served as a clinical instructor for senior students, residents and interns at a number of veterinary teaching hospitals in the US and Canada before joining TTU-SVM.

Instruction

Nancy is a lecturer and laboratory instructor for several continuing education courses for domestic and international veterinarians. She also has an interest in canine rehabilitation therapy and small ruminant husbandry.
