About Me

Philippa (Pippa) Gibbons is an Associate Professor of Food Animal Medicine and Surgery. She grew up on a mixed crop, beef and sheep farm in England. After completing veterinary school and a food animal internship in the UK she moved to Texas and completed a food animal internal medicine residency and Masters program at Texas A&M. Prior to her role at Texas Tech SVM she was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Food animal at Texas A&M and Associate Professor at Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a Diploma of Veterinary Education through the Royal Veterinary College.

Instruction

Pippa's focus is on all aspects of food animal medicine and surgery, both didactic and laboratory based, as well as evidence based veterinary medicine.

Research

Her research portfolio includes creation and validation of clinical skills models, food animal and evidence based medicine instruction models and small ruminant health and welfare.

Service

Pippa is a member of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, serving on the examinations committee, the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners, serving as the alternate Delegate to the AVMA, and a member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, Academy of Veterinary Consultants, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Pippa frequently gives continuing education at local, regional and National veterinary meetings on the topic of small ruminant medicine.
