About Me

Shawn Kinser is part of the Clinical and Professional Skills team at the School of Veterinary Medicine. Originally from Oklahoma, he earned his degree in Animal Science from Oklahoma State University (OSU) in 2015 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine (2011–2015). Dr. Kinser has been a small animal practitioner in Amarillo, Texas, since graduation and joined the School of Veterinary Medicine faculty in 2025. He has interests in small animal preventative medicine, surgery, parasitology, and mentorship of new graduates. He is passionate about educating future veterinarians, combining real-world clinical experience with foundational veterinary education.
