Anthony LaStrape is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the College of Media and Communication at Texas Tech University in Waco. He received his B.A. in University Studies from Texas Tech, his Master of Communication Studies from Texas State, and Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Tarleton State University. He has a background in rhetorical criticism, empirical methods and motivational speaking. His research agenda currently includes emotional intelligence, adolescent to emerging adulthood mentoring and the rhetoric of sport.

He teaches undergraduate courses in both rhetorical and empirical methods, political campaign communication, leadership, social movements and communication theory.
